WHAT IS
THE PASARAN KEWANGAN MALAYSIA (P.K.M) CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS?
The
PKM Certificate is the professional requirement set by
the Persatuan Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia (PPKM),
formerly known as Persatuan Forex Malaysia (PFM), for newly-appointed
staff of licensed financial institutions
dealing in financial markets operations before
they are accepted to operate as dealers or brokers.
Dealers
or brokers are expected to understand their respective roles and
responsibilities clearly and to act accordingly with
professionalism and integrity. This is to ensure that the
Malaysian wholesale financial markets will continue to uphold
the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, and grow
in an orderly manner.
Upon obtaining the
PKM Certificate, members should have attained the following :

Basic knowledge
of the Malaysian financial system and markets.

Thorough knowledge
of the provision of the "Malaysian Code of Conduct for
Principals and Brokers in the
Wholesale Money and Foreign Exchange Markets" and the "Code
of Conduct and Market Practices for
Scriptless Trading in the Malaysian Securities Market"
issued by Bank Negara Malaysia and The Model Code with the local
addendum adopted by Persatuan Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia.

Sound knowledge
and clear understanding of the financial markets operations
in Malaysia, the range
of financial products traded in the market and how they are
dealt with, and the roles and responsibilities of
dealers and brokers.

Sound knowledge
of the basic calculations use in financial markets operations.

Sound knowledge
of the risks in financial markets operations and how to manage
these risks.
